Housekeeping and New Affiliate

Published: March 13, 2013 By webmasterbob | Comments (1)

First, before I get into additional announcement material, I'm proud to announce our newest affiliate "Want Midna Back". Want Midna Back is a great site campaigning to see Midna, in some form or another, in the release of future Nintendo games, specifically The Legend of Zelda. They have a lot of great content, and are certainly worth your time.

Now, onto a few housekeeping matters. First, thank you all for your patience during the odd series of bugs we've had recently. We recently upgraded our content management system, and it appears that there were a few error we did not catch before going live again. Thank you for your patience, and as always if you find something that looks wrong or a website feature is not working as expected, please alert us via the technical issues area of the forums. In addition to all this, rest assured that a lot more content for Skyward Sword will be coming in the next few weeks. We are still working on a few elements of our new design, and once those are implemented we can better share our content with you. Thank you all again for your patience.

Also we know there are a lot of lurkers out there, and you should all sign up for a Zelda Sages account. This will allow you to download special content, submit fan art and stories, and participate in our community forums.

Voice Acting and Nintendo's Reluctance

Published: February 25, 2013 By Dakare | Comments (2)

Nintendo has stated time and again that there will be no voice acting in Zelda.  Or at least if there ever is, Link will never utter more than a grunt.  But is this an outdated view on things?  Read on the discover one staff member’s opinion.

Gamespy and 1UP - Gone

Published: February 22, 2013 By webmasterbob | Comments (1)

I was just as shocked reading the news as you likely are (or rather currently are) reading this headline. Both Gamespy and 1Up have been shut down by parent corporations IGN Entertainment due to, "the realities of a changing business". It's shocking, certainly, but not something unforeseeable because of the current shape of the world economy.

With the Nintendo Direct last Thursday, Nintendo brought forth a great deal of news. Iwata announced that this year is being put forth as the "Year of Luigi," with a series of games involving the often-overshadowed Mario brother coming to be released this year. Nintendo also discussed a great deal more regarding the near future of the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo Direct, Tomorrow?

Published: February 13, 2013 By webmasterbob | Comments (2)

The word on the street is, Valentine's Day will produce far more than unconditional love and crushing depression this year. Nintendo plans to broadcast a Nintendo Direct tomorrow with a focus on Nintendo 3DS and WiiU. There's a lot of speculation buzzing about the web as to what Nintendo will cover, but I have a few theories of my own (let's see how close I can get).

Wind Waker HD - What's In Store?

Published: February 6, 2013 By Stealthylight | Comments (3)

It would seem that a chunk of E3 broke off and rolled down the hill to meet us a bit early this year. Among the slew of first and second party title announcements that where revealed to us during this January's Nintendo Direct was not one, but two distinct Zelda titles. While the prospect of a new, original Zelda title for the Wii U that will supposedly be a "newborn" Zelda experience is certainly an exciting one, there is no doubt the fans responded a bit more fervently to the breathtaking visuals from the stills shown from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker remake in HD for the Wii U. In a situation analogous to the paring of the Ocarina of Time remake and Skyward Sword, it would seem that this Wind Waker remake will serve as buffer between now and the distant, but impending new Zelda title for the Wii U.
