Welcome to the New Zelda Sages
Welcome to the new Zelda Sages! Years of work had a purpose after all!
Before we get into too many celebrations, I really need to send a big public thank you to Dane, "Stealthylight". Dane created many of the amazing new design elements you see around you, and it goes without saying he did a great job! We will have additional work to do setting up the style, but we wanted to ensure you were all 1) not separated from ZS for too long, and 2) got a chance to see his awesome work!
You're going to see a lot of great things from Zelda Sages over the next few weeks. Be sure to stay on the lookout, and be sure to check out our brand new forums!
If you see anything really out of the norm, please alert us as soon as you can! This was a lot of work, and involved a significant amount of database work, so if something is wrong we will work to fix it ASAP.
Status Update: Forum Move Nearly Complete
UPDATE Jan 30: Because of an issue with cross site integration, we were unable to start the final move on-time. We expect to start the final move Jan 31 or Feb 1. Thank you all!
UPDATE Jan 27: We are still working on some aspects of the forum and fixing a few things in the new site design before we move forward. It is anticipated that these changes will be complete, by the latest, Monday, and we can move forward with the rest of the move. Thanks for your patience!
Good news! All the forum content, and all your accounts for that matter, are safe and sound running on the new board software.
Nintendo Direct Reveals WW-HD and WiiU Zelda
In a Nintendo Direct broadcast early this morning, Nintendo announced that The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker will be remastered for the WiiU (in HD) and that Zelda WiiU will be a more, "back to basics / remastering" of the Zelda franchise!
Wind Waker HD will include, "refined gameplay mechanics" and HD graphics. It is unclear if Nintendo plans to add additional content to the game, such as a special dungeon or additional quests, although given the history of re-release / improved Zelda titles it is a possibility. For full details, see the Nintendo Direct below (the Zelda information begins at about 29min).

We're still here, Promise
Yes, we're still here! I want to apologize for our prolonged absence. All the staff have been rather busy with school work, and other such activities. With that said, we do have some very good, exciting news. After several years of delays, setbacks, and breakdowns I've made the executive decision to upgrade Zelda Sages to our new site design / sometime in the next few weeks. Please read the rest of the article to see what exactly this means for you and what kind of content we will be launching with.
Hyrule Historia Comes to the West
Good news! Just announced, the Hyrule Historia book will be coming to the West in January 2013! For those of you unfamiliar with Hyrule Historia, Nintendo released it in Japan as one of the components of the 25 year celebration for The Legend of Zelda. The book features never before seen details about each game in the series, an official timeline, and fantastic game art. I don't know about you all, but I'm very excited!
Vote for Zelda 3DS
First, I want to personally apologize for the HUGE absence we've had over the last few months. As old as these two excuses are, they're still basically what going on: school and work. I'm working in the US capital (Washington, DC) this summer, so much of my time has been dedicated to that work. Rest assured, we're still here!
Now, onto more important matters. With E3 over and with, unfortunately, very little news on the next Legend of Zelda installment we're left wondering a bit. However, Mr. Miyamoto was kind enough to inform the Nintendo Press crowd that the Zelda Team is considering one of three games. First, a re-make of A Link to the Past. Such a title has the potential to play radically differently given the 3D, although Miyamoto has expressed that such a remake would be a top-down Zelda style, so the gameplay may not be as radically different. The second, the much asked for re-make of Majora's Mask. If you haven't played Majora's Mask you're really doing yourself a disservice. To a lot of folks, myself included, it's the Zelda game of choice. Lastly, an entirely new title based off of A Link to the Past. We're not sure exactly what the game will involve, but it certainly sounds very interesting.
Anyway, IGN just placed up a video asking Zelda fans to vote for which game they'd like. Before you go all over me about how internet polls mean nothing, it has been confirmed that the Miyamoto et al accounts on IGN are legit. They do read fan feedback and take IGN in particular rather seriously. Click the read more link to vote, and best of luck!
