Hope Never Dies
Alright, I heard about this glitch, and thought, "Hey, I should try this out!" So I started over Red, got past rock tunnel, and got "Fly". Then, I tried it, and it WORKED! 
I have a level 14 mew right now ^_^. This is how you do it:
Alright, make it to Celadon city, making sure you didn't beat the kid with a Slowpoke on your way to Bill's. Alright, leave Celadon, and go into the underground tunnel. Leave the other exit, and step outside. SAVE NOW!!! Then, walk down one step, and IMMEDIATELY PRESS START!!! If it worked, you should see a gambler, but your start menu up. Fly to Cerulean, and as you leave, he gets the exclamation mark above his head, but you get away =P. Your buttons are locked up, so all you can do now is move. move up nugget bridge, until you get to him. walk up, and then in front of him IF HE DOESN'T WALK TO YOU, I.E. YOU WALK RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM, YOUR GAME WILL FREEZE!!! MAKE HIM WALK TO YOU!!! Then, after beating him, fly to Lavender and walk onto the route. Your menu pops up automatically. press 'b', and Mew will appear.
The great thing is that, you can do this unlimited times, with different trainers, so you get different pokemon!!! I have a lvl 7 Gengar from the glitch too ^_^
