Temple of Ocean King B2

I am in the Temple of the Ocean King (Phantom Hourglass) for my third visit. In B2 there is a small key which can be obtained by using the boomerang while standing on a pressure switch to lower some spikes. The problem is that there is no key. I must not be doing something I need to do to make the key appear, but have no idea what. It doesn't show on the map either. I can't go any further til I get that key!!!

To the left of the phantom guarding the switch, there is an orb. to the bottom-right of the phantom in the same area, there is another orb. Hit them both within a certain time period, and the key will drop.

The blue circles are the switches you need to hit, abd the "P" is the Phantom. You have to hit the two switches withen a certain time frame for it to drop the key.
