We have the requirement of being registered seven days and posting twenty-five times to gain signature and editing abilities due to spammers. In the past, we have had people register and put advertisements in their signature and make one discrete post. This would increase any site they advertised Google ranking and serve as spam. I do not know how loz.com runs their rank system, although this is generally the case why any community operates with this restriction.
