Sonic and Mario?!

I was watching AoTS last night and was surprised to hear that Sonic and Mario are joining together to make a game. It is called Sonic and Mario go to the Olympics. It is a game about the Olympics, and features most of the events that will be in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. It is Wii and DS exclusive and will have, so far, Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi for Nintendo and Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles for Sega. I might buy it just to see Mario and Sonic in a game together.

Yes, I've also heard of this. Supposedly, It's being developed by Sega japan and a developer called Tose that has helped with 1000's of games since 1979. More can be seen here. Also, Shigeru Miyamato is overseeing the project...

I find it a bit odd, but I guess this proves the new found relationship between Sega and Nintendo. I would still be wary of buying a game created in such a manner though.
